DOLCE & GABBANA: THE ONE

Hello Lovelies!

I thought I'd do this little post letting you all know about my favorite discovery from this month. First things first, I am very picky with my perfumes. I don't like anything too sickeningly sweet or overbearingly spicy. I tend to reach towards light floral-y, sensual fragrances and I think Dolce and Gabbana's The One suits me perfectly. I'm rubbish at explaining scents but I would like to describe this as something slightly musky, warm but still fresh and I can even detect a bit of a vanilla essence in it as well.

MERUMAYA MELTING CLEANSING BALM

First time trying out this brand. First time experimenting with a cleansing balm. First time ever in my life I'm freaking satisfied with my skincare routine. I picked up this balm from John Lewis after reading tons of raving reviews about it. Not to mention the approval stamp by the one and only Caroline Hirons. I swear, I live by her skincare rules now! So, naturally, I had to give this product a whirl after hearing so many positive things. My thoughts, you may ask? Let's just say I'm on my second tube...

URBAN DECAY'S NAKED EYE PALETTE

Left to Right: Virgin | Sin | Naked | Sidecar | Buck | Half Baked | Smog | Dark Horse | Toasted |Hustle | Creep | Gunmetal

Ahh yes. Everyone has heard about Urban Decay's cult classic Naked eye shadow palette. It's almost a sin to be a beauty blogger without having one of these in your make up stash (note exaggeration). Thankfully, I'm one of the lucky people who does have it in their collection. This review only sings praises for this little gem because Naked honestly deserves all the hype it has received over the years since it first launched. It is the perfect dream tool that everyone wishes to have in one single palette.

SHINE, BE GONE.

Powders. You either love 'em or hate 'em. I've always been on the middle ground in this equation. If you have been reading my posts for a long enough time, I'm sure you can tell by now how much I love the good ole' dewy finish. Hence why, I used to believe that powders kind of defeated the purpose of using dewy/natural foundations. I'd like to mentally punch the past-me in the face for thinking that right now.

HYDRALURON & PEPTA-BRIGHT | WORTH THE HYPE?

Following the much raved advice from skincare guru, Mrs Caroline Hirons, I finally took the bait and marched over to Boots with a notepad in one hand and a soon-to-be-empty wallet in the other. Right, you're going to buy this regardless of the price. Caroline said it's a brilliant product so, what's there to think? Just buy it! This was exactly the thought process running through my mind whilst standing in front of the Indeed Labs section with furrowed eyebrows and a thoughtful expression. Nevertheless, I stayed true to my heart (and Caroline!) and went ahead and bought these acclaimed miracle serums. Here's my edit on what I think about these fancy little products:

HOLY GRAIL | LA ROCHE- POSAY EFFACLAR DUO +

 Hello Lovelies,

I know I am very late on the bandwagon with this cult favourite but I've only gotten around to trying out this product just last month when my temperamental skin hit it's peak. For the last six-eight months, I've been suffering from mild- acne. I've always had clear skin and would only get the odd pimple around that time of the month but due to changes in my hormones and crap diet in this past year, my skin has taken a turn for the worse. It became severely dehydrated and I had angry red spots all over my face, more locally on the apple of my cheeks and around the chin area. I literally could not find anything that would control and vanquish my horrible breakouts.

And then I found this...

DIORSKIN FOREVER FOUNDATION | THE REVIEW

 Hello Lovelies!

So I've been on a hunt for a heavy coverage foundation for quite a while now and about a month ago, a friend recommended checking out Dior's Diorskin foundation line. Diorskin offers the choice between Nude 'Natural Glow Hydrating Foundation' and Forever 'Flawless Perfection Fusion-Wear Foundation'. Nude foundation provides a more lighter and dewy coverage whereas Forever is heavier coverage with a velvety finish.

MET GALA 2014 | BEST DRESSED

Hosted by Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, the Met Gala is known as one of the most prestigious annual social events to be held in the fashion industry. The event takes place in NYC every year with different themed dress codes for A-list celebrity guests. The 2013 theme was 'Punk: Chaos to Couture' whereas the theme for this years' Met Gala was 'White Tie and Decorations' in honour of world-renowned fashion designer, Charles James.

Here are the top favourite looks I've selected from the glamorous red carpet event:

#1
Suki Waterhouse absolutely nailed it with this blush pink Burberry gown. The frilly-tiered strapless number was completed with her hair pinned back in a simple messy up do and diamond studded earrings, whilst her make up was complimented with a bold deep, cherry-red lipstick. Magnificently elegant.

BENEFIT | THEY'RE REAL MASCARA

So, I've tried a fair share of mascaras in my lifetime and I've always never been fully satisfied with any of them. I stumbled upon this mascara a few months back when all the beauty bloggers were raving about it and knew I had to jump on the IT bandwagon.
